The SuperTux team is excited to announce the release of SuperTux 0.6.3 after approximately 1.5 years of development. This release introduces many new features; perhaps the most new features in a long time!

Most of these games create a directory in the home folder that holds configurations and other game data. They are generally hidden directories (ie they start with a period) You can browse to your home and set View-Show Hidden checked. Now all hidden should be shown. Look for folder like .supertux. Delete it. This should bring things back to default.

According to the wiki page of Supertux (SuperTux - Wikipedia), Supertux2 is Supertux since version 0.5.0, so version 0.5.1 belongs to Supertux2.

EDIT: Version 0.6.0 definitely belongs to Supertux2 because the Arch package version of supertux2 (package is called supertux without the 2, but the contained binary is supertux2) is 0.6.0. (Just to add a source which is not Wikipedia )

I tried to compile the supertux app on Manjaro, but I cannot find a build manual for Android, only how to install under Linux and Windows. I tried the Linux variant hoping an APK getting build with that, but running make the following error occurs:

At this point you have a supertux/build/supertux2 binary from which you can play the game. If you want to install this version you use sudo make install; but you likely need to remove an existing supertux package (or customize the installation directory).

For major platforms, stable releases are built and available for download fromsupertux.org or alternatively directlyfrom GitHub. You should be ableto install these using default tools provided by your platform. On macOS, whenGatekeeper is enabled (default) it will refuse to open SuperTux. This is due tothe lack of a signature on the application. If you wish to open SuperTux anywaywithout disabling the Gatekeeper feature entirely, you can open the applicationfrom the context menu (control click on the icon). macOS will then remember yourchoice the next time.

With the release of SuperTux 0.4.0 (December 2015), we wanted to provide afairly stable release. The release of SuperTux 0.5.0 should have fixed somestability issues from 0.4.0 and introduced a new level editor. Development ofthe game will continue (of course), now working towards more releases.Most notably, development focus will be shifted on providing a better gameplayexperience.

The Forest World (you can check it out: Start Game > Contrib Levels > ForestWorld) is relatively unstable, which is why it resides only in the contriblevels menu. We (SuperTux Team) intend to continue with the development of theForest World, but decided that in order to allow more access to the most recentversion (in repositories etc.) we would have to release Milestone 2 without theForest World included in the Story Mode. Constructive feedback with regards tothe Forest World is welcome.

Supertux.exe, supertux2.exe, SuperTuxPortable.exe, supertuxkart.exe and SUPER.exe are the most frequent filenames for this program's installer. The latest installer occupies 86 MB on disk. Our built-in antivirus checked this download and rated it as 100% safe.

The package in PPAs is a little bit different. The stock versions in Ubuntu repository built the package into supertux and supertux-data. Apology for being lazy, the PPA packages built into single supertux.

With the release of SuperTux 0.6.0 (December 2018), the Forest World finally found it's way back to the core part of the game. It's now considered stable, but it still misses the second half, which consists of the ghostforest and the boss of the Forest World. The Team will continue with the development of the Forest World, and, as always, constructive feedback and contributions regarding the game is highly welcome. e24fc04721
