Class Overview

  Piscataway Culinary Arts not only introduces but we also prepare our students for various amazing careers in the food and hospitality industry. There are many different career choices. You can work towards being a chef, event planner, nutritionist, food journalist or food business owner just to name a few. As a leading culinary high school, we are accredited through the largest and most prestigious professional chefs’ organization, the American Culinary Federation. The Accrediting Commission assures that our school’s program meets certain standards and competencies set for faculty, curriculum, and student services. Our qualified instructors have over 20 years of industry and educational experience and mentor our students to a culinary career while also supporting furthering their education to fit the needs and aspirations of each student.                         

         As the student continue through the program, they sharpen their culinary skills by hosting catering events and multiple-course meals in The Raiders Dining Room.  They also prepare classical, traditional and modern dishes served to faculty and staff. Students also polish their customer service skills by acting as hosts, servers, bussers and line cooks in our hands-on restaurant.  As well, food allergies and culinary sustainability are important elements of the program. Students are also encouraged to compete in various Skills USA  and various student competitions hosted throughout the year. When your child completes 4 years here with us, not only do they leave with priceless life soft skills, but also are job ready assessed and are ServSafe Certified Mangers from the National Restaurant Association.​

          Students are also encouraged to continue their education through our articulations with many post-secondary colleges. Their Chef visits encourage our students to a future in the hospitality industry. They are also exposed to top culinary schools such as CIA, Johnson & Whales and Walnut Hill. Every culinary student's journey may begin here in our kitchen, but as we also foster the of all core academic foundation classes within our culinary curriculum their well-seasoned education stays with them for a lifetime.

I am a graduate of Academy of Culinary Arts in Mays Landing New Jersey. I have been in the food service industry for over 27 years, specializing in supermarkets for the last 18, in several capacities.
