If you want a wired, high-fidelity studio monitor for precise audio mixing and deep sound staging, choose Superlux HD661; if you need a wireless, rechargeable safety earmuff with Bluetooth 5.4 and long battery life for loud work environments or casual listening on the go, choose PROHEAR 033. These two devices occupy completely different worlds in terms of design philosophy and intended application. One is built for the quiet precision of a recording booth, while the other is engineered to survive the chaos of a mowing lawn or a construction site. Picking the right one depends entirely on whether your primary use case involves professional audio fidelity or practical protection and convenience with a microphone headband headphones for zoom calls.
• Superlux HD661: Offers superior deep sound field and balanced tones with a sealed neoprene enclosure for isolation, but it is strictly wired with no internal battery. Best for engineers and audiophiles who prioritize audio accuracy over mobility.
• PROHEAR 033: Delivers robust hearing protection with an NRR of 25dB, includes a built-in FM/AM radio, and features Bluetooth 5.4 with up to 30 hours of playtime, though it lacks the refined frequency response of a studio monitor. Best for workers needing safety gear that doubles as entertainment.
The Superlux HD661 is designed specifically for people who demand absolute clarity and control over their audio experience. As a sealed studio monitor headphone, its primary strength lies in its ability to isolate sound effectively using a neoprene enclosure. This airtight design allows you to work comfortably even in areas with significant external noise, making it an excellent tool for live monitoring, studio recording, and broadcast applications. The 40mm dynamic driver unit equipped with a neodymium magnet pushes out a frequency band ranging from 10Hz to 20,000Hz, ensuring you hear the full spectrum of sound without missing the subtle details in the bass or the highs.
This headphone is ideal for audio engineers, producers, or anyone working on projects where balance and resolution are non-negotiable. The sensitivity of 102dB SPL(1mW) @ 1KHz means it can deliver high-resolution audio with impressive efficiency, allowing you to hear exactly what is being recorded or mixed. If you are looking for earbuds for zoom calls that require crystal-clear voice pickup without background interference, this might seem like an overkill, but its sealed nature ensures that you cannot hear the room around you, and vice versa. However, you must be prepared to deal with a wired connection. The package includes a 3.3 ft (1 m) cable and a longer 9.8 ft (3 m) cable, along with a gold-plated conversion plug from 0.1 inch to 0.25 inch. There is no Bluetooth, no rechargeable battery, and no active noise cancellation technology beyond the passive isolation provided by the physical seal.

You should skip the Superlux HD661 if you need freedom of movement or plan to wear these headphones all day in a setting where charging isn't possible. At 6.72 ounces, they are relatively lightweight, but the lack of wireless connectivity limits their utility for mobile users. Furthermore, if you are expecting deep bass true wireless earbuds for zoom calls or any kind of portable listening experience, this device will feel restrictive. It is a tool for focus and precision, not for wandering around a workshop or commuting through a noisy city. The impedance of 68Ω at 1KHz suggests it pairs well with dedicated amplifiers or audio interfaces, rather than a smartphone jack directly, which adds another layer of complexity for casual users.
The PROHEAR 033 is a rugged piece of equipment built for the real world, combining safety standards with modern wireless convenience. Its core function is hearing protection, boasting a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 25dB and a SNR of 31dB, which makes it perfect for noisy environments like mowing the lawn, landscaping, or working near heavy machinery. The durable ABS shell houses ultra-soft padding and anti-sweat ear cushions, ensuring comfort during extended wear. Unlike the Superlux, this device is wireless, powered by a substantial 1500 mAh rechargeable lithium battery that offers up to 30 hours of non-stop playtime in Bluetooth mode. This battery life is a game-changer for anyone who needs to listen to music, podcasts, or take calls throughout a full work shift without hunting for an outlet.
What sets the PROHEAR 033 apart is its versatility as a communication hub. It features Bluetooth 5.4 technology, which facilitates easy answering, canceling, rejecting, and redialing of calls directly from the multifunctional buttons on the ear muffs. This makes it a strong contender for those seeking a reliable solution for video conferencing in loud settings. While it may not offer the surgical precision of a studio monitor, the HIFI sound quality ensures that your voice comes through clearly during meetings, and the audio playback remains enjoyable. The inclusion of an FM/AM digital radio with an LCD display and automatic station search adds another layer of utility, allowing you to tune into local broadcasts instantly. You can store up to 10 AM and 10 FM stations in memory, providing quick access to your favorite channels without fumbling with menus.
This product is best suited for tradespeople, homeowners tackling yard work, or anyone who needs to stay connected while protecting their hearing. The snap-in design allows for easy maintenance and replacement of parts, extending the lifespan of the product. The weight is slightly heavier at 1.2 pounds compared to the Superlux, but the adjustable ultra-padded headband distributes the load effectively. If you are looking for deep bass true wireless earbuds for zoom calls, this might not be the form factor you expect, but the over-ear design provides a secure fit that stays in place even when you are moving around. It is a hybrid device that refuses to compromise on safety while still delivering the convenience of modern connectivity.
• Best for Battery Life → PROHEAR 033: With a 1500 mAh battery offering 30 hours of continuous use, this wins hands down for anyone who cannot rely on a constant power source.
• Best for Audio Fidelity → Superlux HD661: The 40mm neodymium driver and sealed design provide a wider frequency range and better tonal balance for critical listening.

• Best for Wireless Freedom → PROHEAR 033: Bluetooth 5.4 eliminates cables, allowing you to move freely without tethering to a computer or mixer.
• Best for Studio Work → Superlux HD661: The wired connection and specific impedance make it a standard choice for recording and broadcasting environments.
• Best for Radio Integration → PROHEAR 033: Built-in FM/AM radio with LCD display and memory storage is a unique feature absent in the Superlux.
• Best for Long Cables → Superlux HD661: Includes a 9.8 ft cable option for flexibility in studio setups where distance from the source is needed.
• Best for Durability in Rough Conditions → PROHEAR 033: The ABS shell and anti-sweat design are made to withstand harsh outdoor environments.
In my opinion, if you are looking for a dedicated pair of headphones for zoom calls that also happens to double as safety gear, the PROHEAR 033 is the more practical choice for 2026. While the Superlux HD661 is a marvel of engineering for studio work, its lack of wireless capability and battery life makes it less versatile for the average user who needs to move between tasks. The PROHEAR 033's Bluetooth 5.4, integrated microphone functionality via the ear cup controls, and massive battery capacity make it a true all-in-one solution for both work and play. I would buy the PROHEAR 033 because it solves the problem of hearing protection while keeping me connected to my team during remote meetings, a necessity that the wired Superlux simply cannot fulfill.
The PROHEAR 033 is explicitly designed with Bluetooth calling features, allowing you to answer and manage calls directly from the ear muffs, making it suitable for zoom calls in noisy environments. The Superlux HD661 is wired and lacks built-in microphone controls, so it requires an external setup for calls.
The PROHEAR 033 features a 1500 mAh rechargeable battery that provides up to 30 hours of playtime in Bluetooth mode. The Superlux HD661 has no battery as it is a purely wired device that draws power from your audio source.
The PROHEAR 033 offers an NRR of 25dB and SNR of 31dB, specifically rated for hearing protection in loud environments. The Superlux HD661 uses a sealed neoprene enclosure for passive isolation, which blocks ambient noise but does not meet industrial safety ratings.
Yes, the Superlux HD661 includes a carrying pouch, while the PROHEAR 033 comes with a bag included in the package to protect the unit and accessories during transport.
