Priorities and Initiatives

LCSC's core mission is to engage our students in a meaningful educational experience that prepares them to be well rounded, innovative, creative, productive, empathetic, and lifelong learners, who will make positive and meaningful contributions to enrich their lives and society.

Through a strategic planning process, we have identified three areas of focus to further our mission:

1. Student Learning and Achievement

Implement diverse and dynamic (preschool-12th grade) learning experiences that serve the needs and interests of all students.

2. Staff Development

Promote and sustain a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

3. Community Support

Engage and empower the community to understand the importance and relevance of LCSC in improving our quality of life.

Current Initiatives

Student and Staff Safety

The security of our students, staff, and facilities is our first priority. In 2018, LCSC established a district advisory council known as the Security Advisory Team (LSAT), made up of teachers, administrators, and office staff. The LSAT meets quarterly to review safety procedures and make recommendations. The Safety Tip Line is another new addition, making it possible for stakeholders to report safety concerns anonymously. Finally, thanks to generous community support, our in-house police department grew to seven full-time School Resource Officers and one part-time officer in July 2018.
