Smash "A" Opens Season with Win

SUNY Potsdam’s "A" team, made up of Theo Cannamela, Keanu Wiens, Daren Mena, and Liam Schmith, faced off against SUNY Poly’s "D" team.

Potsdam was able to go on impressive hot streaks where one player would eliminate more than one opponent. 

Round 1 began with Theo using Bowser to take a whopping 8 stocks, or lives, before losing his 3. This set up for Keanu, playing Captain Falcon, to come in and wipe the last stock with ease, giving round 1 to Potsdam, 6-0. 

Keanu then began round 2, and went on to eliminate ALL 3 players on the opposing team while only losing 2 stocks.  Round 2 ends as Potsdam is left with an incredible 7 stocks left.

As round 3 began, Daren was sent in, playing Pikachu. He managed to take 4 stocks before being knocked out by the opposing team’s Ike player. Liam then came in with Jigglypuff to close out the round, claiming the remaining 5 stocks.

Potsdam’s A team was able to secure its first win of the season without losing a single round.
