The SUNY Black Student Union (SBSU) is a collective of Black student leaders around the SUNY system focused on achieving tangible change and meaningful opportunity for Black and Brown students in the SUNY community. We recognize Blackness as uniquely diverse in its representation and expression, multinational in its experiences and contexts, and expansive in its presence and presentation in social identities, but also central to the needs and experiences of Black peoples. The SBSU will continually strive to challenge itself through advancing research, policy, and advocacy to demand an equitable space for Black students within SUNY, New York state, and beyond.
