Welcome to my website! 

My name is Sunwoo Park, and I am a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management (RPTM) at the Pennsylvania State University. I received my Ph.D. in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management (PRTM) from Clemson University.

My research examines how tourism, leisure, and event experiences shape individual and community well-being, with a focus on experience design, shared emotional processes, and social sustainability, using data analytics and applied econometrics.

I love teaching and sharing my enthusiasm for my fields. I've taught courses on event planning and on tourism perspectives. Outside of academics, I often explore new places and enjoy local cultures. Travel inspires my research and reminds me of tourism's potential for good. 

I will join the School of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management (HSTM) at Troy University as an Assistant Professor of Hospitality, Tourism, and Event Management, starting in Fall 2026.
