Welcome to my website! 

My name is Sunwoo Park, and I will be joining Troy University as an Assistant Professor of Hospitality, Tourism, and Event Management in Fall 2026.

I received my Ph.D. in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management (PRTM) from Clemson University and previously served as a postdoctoral scholar at the Pennsylvania State University. 

My research examines how tourism, leisure, and event experiences shape individual and community well-being, with a focus on experience design, shared emotional processes, and social sustainability. I use data analytics and applied econometric approaches to better understand the social and economic impacts of tourism, leisure, and events.

I love teaching and sharing my enthusiasm for these fields with students. I have taught courses related to event planning and tourism perspectives. Outside of academia, I enjoy exploring new places and experiencing local cultures. Travel inspires my research and reminds me of tourism’s potential to create meaningful connections and positive community outcomes.
