Welcome to my website! 

My name is Sunwoo Park, and I'm a postdoctoral scholar at the Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management (RPTM) at Penn State University. I received my Ph.D. in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management (PRTM) from Clemson University.

My current projects investigate the role of event tourism in generating social atmospheres that foster meaning-making and enhance well-being. I’m interested in how tourism, leisure, and event experiences build connections and support individual and community well-being/health.

I love teaching and sharing my enthusiasm for my fields! I've taught courses on event planning and perspectives of tourism. 

Outside of academics, I often explore new places and enjoy local cultures. Travel inspires my research and reminds me of tourism's potential for good.
