Sunstate Airlines Baggage Policy
Welcome aboard Sunstate Airlines! As you prepare for your trip with us, it is important to familiarize yourself with our baggage policy to ensure a smooth and stress-free travel experience. Our commitment is to provide you with a reliable and customer-friendly service, and this includes a transparent and convenient baggage policy.
Checked Baggage:
Sunstate Airlines allows passengers to carry one carry-on bag and one personal item on board. Handbags cannot exceed 22 inches in length, 14 inches in width and 9 inches in height. This includes wheels and handles. Your personal items, such as a wallet or laptop bag, should fit under the seat in front of you.
For the safety and comfort of all passengers, it is important to comply with these size restrictions. Please note that if your handbag exceeds the specified dimensions, you may need to check it at the gate, subject to an additional fee.
Checked Baggage:
The checked baggage allowance varies based on the ticket class:
Economy Class: Passengers traveling in Economy Class are entitled to one checked bag with a maximum weight of 50 pounds (23 kg) and overall dimensions (length + width + height) not exceeding 62 inches (158 cm).
Additional checked bags may be accepted for a fee.
Business Class: Business Class passengers enjoy an enhanced baggage allowance, with two checked bags allowed. Each bag cannot exceed 70 pounds (32 kg) in weight, and the overall dimensions cannot exceed 62 inches (158 cm). This provides additional convenience and flexibility to Business Class travelers.
Please note that an excess baggage fee will apply if you exceed the weight or dimensions prescribed for checked bags. It is recommended to check the dimensions and weight of your luggage before arriving at the airport to avoid any last minute inconvenience.
Special Items:
Sunstate Airlines understands that some items require special attention. Sports equipment, musical instruments and other large items may be subject to additional fees or special handling requirements. We recommend that you contact our customer service first to inquire about the best way to transport the item and any associated costs.
Fragile or valuable items, such as electronics or delicate souvenirs, should be carried in your hand luggage to ensure their safety. If you need to check the item, please inform our staff at the check-in counter for special handling.
Baggage Fee:
Sunstate Airlines strives to provide competitive and transparent pricing for baggage fees. Fees for checked baggage are usually determined by the number of bags, weight and class of service. Excess Baggage Fees:
If passengers exceed their baggage allowance, Sunstate Airlines will charge an excess baggage fee. These fees may vary depending on the route and excess weight or number of bags. It is important for passengers to know about these fees and plan accordingly to avoid unnecessary expenses.
To help passengers estimate potential excess baggage fees, Sunstate Airlines provides a detailed fee schedule on its website. This schedule usually includes information about fees for overweight bags, oversized bags and extra bags over the allowed allowance. Passengers are encouraged to use this information to plan their packing and avoid exceeding the prescribed limits.
Special Items:
Sunstate Airlines has specific guidelines for transporting special items such as sports equipment, musical instruments and fragile items. Passengers with oversized or irregularly shaped items, such as golf clubs or skis, may need to follow special procedures to check-in these items. It is advisable to contact the airline in advance to ensure proper handling and avoid any complications during the check-in process.
Musical instruments, especially delicate ones, may require special handling or even the purchase of a separate seat. Passengers traveling with such items should notify the airline in advance to make the necessary arrangements. Fragile items should be properly packed to withstand the rigors of air travel, and passengers may be required to sign a waiver acknowledging the airline's limited liability for damage to such items.
Prohibited items:
Sunstate Airlines, like all airlines, has a list of prohibited items that passengers are not allowed to bring on board or check in their luggage. This list usually includes items such as explosives, flammable materials and certain sharp objects. Passengers should familiarize themselves with this list before packing to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
The airline may also have restrictions on carrying certain items in carry-on luggage, such as liquids and gels. Passengers should familiarize themselves with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) guidelines in addition to Sunstate Airlines policies to avoid any issues during the security screening process.
Lost or Damaged Baggage:
In the unfortunate event that baggage is lost or damaged during a Sunstate Airlines flight, passengers should immediately report the issue to the airline's customer service desk or baggage claim office. Airlines usually have procedures for tracking and locating lost luggage, and they may offer compensation for damaged items.
It is advisable for passengers to keep all receipts for valuables packed in checked baggage, as these receipts may be required when filing a claim for reimbursement. Additionally, passengers should ensure that their contact information is clearly visible on both the inside and outside of their luggage to facilitate identification and contact in the event of loss.
In conclusion, understanding Sunstate Airlines' baggage policy is essential for a smooth and stress-free travel experience. Passengers should familiarize themselves with the special allowances for checked baggage and checked baggage, be aware of excess baggage fees, and follow the guidelines for special items. By following these policies and advance planning, passengers can ensure their trip with Sunstate Airlines is as enjoyable and trouble-free as possible. It is always recommended to check the airline's official website or contact customer service for the most up-to-date and accurate information on baggage policies.
