Question
Who is Scam Likely or Spam Likely??
Why does the Caller ID show the number as "Scam Likely" or "Spam Likely"?
Answer: Scam Likely is the marker given by a Scam prevention service offered by T-Mobile and MetroPCS called Scam ID. This service labels potential scam calls by cross-referencing the number calling to their database. This warns subscribers that the call could be fraudulent in nature.
Another service offered by T-Mobile and MetroPCS blocks calls marked as "Scam Likely". This service, aptly named Scam Block, must be enabled manually by contacting the carrier.
Although these services work most of the time, it is possible for some legitimate calls to be tagged as "Scam Likely". As T-Mobile or MetroPCS uses their own database to determine which numbers are fraudulent, they have sole control on which numbers are considered fraudulent.
