Concepts related to Retagged
The system uses the status value 'Retagged' for any number that is already registered that is currently appearing with a tag value.
All numbers registered in the Neustar Caller Name Optimization(CNO) program are monitored for spam tagging at our carrier partners, T-mobile, Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T.
T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint
Neustar's agreements with T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint include proactive notification of any troublesome call behavior that would have triggered a telephone number to be spam tagged post registration had the number not been part of the CNO program. When this occurs, the carrier provides details regarding the troublesome call behavior and gives Neustar an opportunity to resolve the issue with our customer, preventing numbers from ever becoming spam labeled at these carriers.
AT&T
At the end of May 2022, Neustar launched an improvement to our process with AT&T that provides more accurate and timely insight into telephone numbers that are spam labeled on the AT&T network. Specifically, AT&T now provides Neustar with ongoing reporting that identifies telephone numbers with calls terminating on the AT&T network where those numbers have either negative crowd sourced feedback or other flagged call behavior. Neustar then validates if these numbers are spam labeled using the AT&T Call Protect app. The timing to complete the spam validation is dependent on the volume of numbers Neustar needs to validate from the AT&T reporting. Typically, we are able to validate the full list within 3 to 4 business days. When a spam label is identified, Neustar immediately submits an appeal to remove the spam label and reflects the number's spam status in the TCS Portal. The appeal process typically takes 3 to 5 business days to complete. The outcome of the number's appeal is then reflected in the TCS Portal.
