Sunrise Photos Free Download

I have an opportunity to get some great sunrise photos. We have too many power lines, trees, etc. that get in the way around the house. I can get the photos that are clear without having to edit them. Our church parking lot faces east so the sun will come up over a ridge about 300 yards away. My question: As noted below, I have the T7 and the listed lenses. What can I do or set the camera to prevent frying the insides? Thanks. Will share a photo or two.

I have the same camera and shooting sunrises and sunsets can be challenging. First of all, I don't think shooting into a sunrise will damage the camera or the sensor unless you do so on Bulb for very long exposure. A series of exposures for a fraction of a second each should be OK but perhaps others who are more knowledgable can provide more insight into this.

With the camera on a tripod, I would suggest using exposure compensation and auto-bracketing as was discussed in the above reference thread and then (I have yet to do this for sunrise/sunset photos but I will soon), using the HDR Composting Tool in Canon DPP4 to combine the bracketed sets into one HDR image and see what happens.

Normally, shooting a sunrise and sunset should not pose risks to your camera sensor because at a low declination there is much more atmosphere between you and the sun. Secondly, well before you burn out the camera sensor, you should have overexposed the image, hence my suggestion about using Av mode.

Thanks to all. Lens: I tend to experiment with the lenses I have listed; likely the 75-300mm and/or the 150-600mm. Experiment with camera settings. I could let my wife take the photos as she is locked in at Auto.:D The church is only 2 miles away so it's easy to set up. A tripod is a must as I don't feel that hand held shots would be good. Plus, i could take multiple photos as the sun rises. Some clouds show up as pink. The tree line would serve as a sort of horizontal border; shoot as the light becomes visible to a section of the sun as it rises. Right now, the sun becomes visible before 8 AM, Eastern time. Thanks as I plan on a few visits. Will see what happens and share the photos here.

My name is Bugsy Sailor, and on January 1, 2019 I began a resolution to watch and photograph every sunrise of the year. I sought the sun, but what I found was so much more. So much, in fact, that I have yet to miss a sunrise am still at it.

What started as Year of the Sunrise has grown into a life of sunrise. Since beginning, I have photographed1,830of1,831sunrises, primarily from the shores of Lake Superior in Marquette County, Michigan.

Along the way, sunrise has slowed my approach to life, stretched my heart, introduced me to love, given spirit to my days, navigated me through a global pandemic, and has given witness to more beauty than I, or any amount of photos, can express. There have been -35 windchills, downpours, thunderstorms, and blizzards, but no matter how gray the day, the sun still rises.

While daily photos have been the tangible output of these sunrise years, it has never been about the photos. It has been about the wind on my face, the sand between my toes, and feeling the sunrise while being present in nature. No photograph of a sunrise is better than the experience of sunrise.

As Year of the Sunrise continues, one significant takeaway is encouraging you to watch more sunrises this year than you did the previous year. I present you with a challenge, to watch more sunrises in 2024 than you did in 2023.

Have you ever taken a photo of a beautiful sunrise or sunset with all those warm hues that we love (like oranges, yellows, reds, etc.) only to find that your resulting image was lackluster at best. Or maybe, you might want to make your average sunset photo look more warm and pleasing? Either way, one of most rewarding concepts, in my opinion, for sunrise/sunset photography is the difference that changing your white balance can make in the camera.

Catching alpenglow in photos means getting up hours before sunrise, and usually hiking or driving to our location in the dark so that we can be ready when it happens. It only lasts for around 15 minutes before the sun comes out, and the deep colors turn a brighter light.

Hi, I am planning to drive from St George to Horseshoe Bend to watch sunrise in March, followed by a tour at the Antelope canyon. I will probably have to start driving at 4am while its still dark, will this route be safe to drive in the dark?

When booking your session, I recommend choosing your preferred time of day. From there, I can recommend locations that work well for that time, factoring in driving distance from your accomodations and your vision for your photos. The most ideal time to go to Cambodia is during the dry season. This is usually from November through March. Overall, you want to make sure to go on a clear day. Keep an eye on the weather before you go, otherwise you may be disappointed with grey skies covering the beautiful colors of the sunrise.

I usually use Lightroom to edit my photos and it works great. For more detailed touchups I use Photoshop. Make sure to shoot in RAW format so that you can do more detailed edits with them after. For quick on the fly editing while traveling, I use the Lightroom app.

After the sun rises, a lot of people will start heading to the temple or queuing for the tower. We actually stuck around for awhile and kept taking photos since the crowds dispersed. The lighting was quite magical over the temple complex and looked just as stunning. However, if you have limited time in Siem Reap, you may want to head to the tower right away instead. We ended up missing it this trip, so that gives us a good reason to return!

I think if you look through pictures you'll find quite a bit of difference, but I suspect much of it is illusory. Specifically, you'll almost certainly find more pictures of really spectacular sunsets than sunrises.

I'm not at all convinced that this is because an average sunset is more spectacular though -- it's a simple matter of the number of pictures taken. Far fewer people are awake and taking pictures at sunrise. Given a larger pool from which to select, the pictures we see of sunsets are naturally better.

During the night, there's a lot less pollution being put into the air, and the lack of heating means the air tends to be calmer as well, so by morning many of those particulates will have simply fallen out of the air, and the humidity either formed into clouds or precipitated. The clearer air does less to diffuse the light, so the sunrise isn't as spectacular.

We just returned from a relaxing week-long vacation on Amelia Island. I wanted to thank you for the heads up on this pier location for sunrise shots. We are not morning people, but managed to drag ourselves out of bed for a combined morning of the blood moon and the sunrise. Unfortunately for my sunrise shots, there were hardly any clouds in the sky. I know how much they can add to the colors and dimension of photos. But nonetheless, the pier was a great spot and I appreciate you sharing!

Most people will go home by the time sunset rolls around, so you will have a better chance for a more intimate session. And if you are booking at sunrise, everyone is still sleeping or eating breakfast, so you will likely have the place to yourself at that time. This is definitely a benefit to having your photos taken at sunset or sunrise.

As a reminder, this group is purely devoted to nighttime images. We've been getting a lot of submissions of sunset/sunrise images, which can't be added to the group pool. From the group rules:

Don't post dusk and sunrise/sunset images. If the sun is in the image it does not belong in this group. If the sky is orange or pink because of the setting/rising sun, it does not belong in the group. Midnight sun is still sun. Images with a sunset, sunrise, dusk, etc. tags will be deleted without further consideration.That's not to say that sunsets and sunrises aren't lovely -- but there are more appropriate groups for them.
