Sunmibola Oyetola Olaniyi is a PhD student in Agricultural Economics at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. She is also a research fellow at the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) University of California, Berkeley and at the Centre for Economic Policy and Development Research, Covenant University, Nigeria. Her doctoral research focuses on assessing the impact of a sensitization campaign on child labour in rural communities in Nigeria.
Sunmibola holds a MSc. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ilorin and a BSc. in Agricultural Economics and Extension from Osun State University, Osogbo. She also holds a Certificate of Diploma in Designing and Running Randomized Evaluations from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Her academic pursuits are rooted in development economics, with a particular emphasis on rural development, child development, and gender equality. She is dedicated to exploring how socioeconomic factors influence children's access to education in rural communities, aiming to identify strategies that promote equitable growth and empower marginalized populations.
