Our latest coverage of climate change

Analysis of the science and economics of the climate as there is No Plan(et)-B

To win the transition race aginst climate change, every industry needs to do more – and use less. Delivering radical decarbonisation by scaling up renewables, building greener and operating leaner. By creating sustainable outcomes for people, planet and performance, we can help you target the change that matters to make the transition add up to more.

As the heat waves of 2022 and 2024 illustrate, extreme heat is a severe hazard in New Delhi, set to become more intense and frequent as climate change progresses. New Delhi endures 33.4°C+ days for 10% of the year, and the hottest days surpass 45°C. Without action to reduce emissions, these hot days will rise by 33%, and extreme heat events will be more frequent and severe. The urban heat island (UHI) effect exacerbates the problem, with urban areas being up to 8°C hotter than rural ones. Careful planning is crucial as New Delhi's population is projected to grow by 20% by 2050.
