Our success as a business venture is built on people – on the many different talents and personalities. It’s the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. We look forward to receiving your application. To make it easier for you, here are a few things to think about: Here, you’ll do more than join something — you’ll add something.
Do your research: It’s important that you do your research and are well-prepared when applying for a position. On this site, you’ll find information about all careers at SSC. Search all available opportunities and understand our work areas and how they fit your skill set before applying. Acquaint yourself with our ethics, policies, conduct and disclaimers, as by applying for a role with SSC, you agree and acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to our terms & conditions, conduct, ethical stance and privacy policy.
Your application: Have a look at your CV and personal letter and, if necessary, adapt it to the position you are applying for. Explain why you’re applying and let us know what you would bring to the position. Don’t make your personal letter too long. Email your resume at sethi.arnav5@gmail.com and arnavsethi@icai.org. The subject of the email should include "Role Ref. Number".
What happens next? When we receive your application, we will have a look at it and you can expect to hear from us within approximately two weeks. We will get back to you via e-mail. Due to the volume of responses we receive, we will only contact you to schedule a discussion if your skills and experience match the role requirements.
The discussion & assessment rounds: Make sure you are well prepared for your discussions with us. At this step, we shall screen all submittals and review referrals. You will find a lot of useful information here on our career page. Apart from the technical aspects prepare answers for questions like: Why should we hire you? Why would you like to work at SSC? How do you see your future with us? Relax, be yourself and be honest. Look at the interview as an adventure where you will learn new things about yourself and about SSC. Everyone has weaknesses – don’t be afraid to acknowledge yours! In what areas do you need to improve and develop?
What to wear? Dress your personality – nobody is expecting a three-piece suit!
Hiring Cycles: We generally follow a bi-annual hiring cycle in November and May each year for both internships and jobs.
Employment Offer, Onboarding and beyond: An employment offer letter serves as a formal confirmation of a candidate’s onboarding details, including the start date and the comprehensive Cost to Company (CTC)—a figure that encapsulates the total financial outlay an employer commits to the employee. This legally binding document not only formalizes the employer’s intent but is typically valid for a fixed period, often seven days, after which the firm may withdraw the offer if no response is received. The CTC itself aggregates various salary components, such as basic pay, housing allowance, special perks, and employer contributions to provident funds, pension schemes, and other benefits. The package also includes performance-linked bonuses, variable pay, and allocations for work-related equipment. Following the stipulations of India’s Revised Code on Wages 2019, allowances, collectively, cannot exceed 50% of the salary package. As of October 2024, in Delhi, skilled workers are entitled to a minimum wage of ₹20,903 per month, while semi-skilled workers receive ₹19,352.
Internships and Stipends: The firm aligns its compensation practices with regulatory guidelines.
- Stipends for Chartered Accountant (CA) article trainees follow the parameters set under CA Regulation 48(1), as stipulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). In the event of an Articleship transfer, the training period completed with previous principals is duly recognized, ensuring the continuity of professional development. However, no financial compensation is provided for additional leave.
- For aspiring lawyers, the situation diverges. Under guidelines issued by the Bar Council of India (BCI), law students are mandated to undertake internships—12 weeks for the 3-year course, and 20 weeks for the 5-year program. Typically unpaid, these internships afford students the opportunity to gain practical exposure in legal proceedings, albeit often under precarious conditions.
- In contrast, junior advocates—having cleared the All India Bar Examination (AIBE)—are regarded as full-time employees and, in theory, are entitled to a minimum stipend. Following a 2024 directive by the Delhi High Court, the BCI recommended a minimum stipend of ₹20,000 for urban areas. While this recommendation is non-binding, it underscores the financial pressures faced by law firms and junior practitioners alike. The firm seeks to balance adherence to such recommendations with the prevailing economic realities, recognizing the gap between regulatory guidance and market conditions.
High ethical standards: The firm prides itself on maintaining high ethical standards and is committed to being both an Equal Opportunity Employer and a proponent of affirmative action. We actively value diversity, encouraging applications from individuals of all backgrounds, while ensuring that all stakeholders are treated without bias or discrimination, in accordance with legally protected characteristics. Our commitment extends to promoting greater transparency and upholding human rights, as defined in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Humanizing and De-greedifying Work: Professional careers like lawyers, doctors, and chartered accountants - that require significant time and attention from workers are more likely to reward those who are available all the time and are colloquially called 'greedy jobs'. This unintentionally and frustratingly leads to both men and women being deprived: men forgo time with family, and women forgo careers. To address gender gap issues and preserve couple equity, we strive our best to provide flexible working arrangements to all our employees to help them succeed both at work and at home. More FAQ
