"Wisdom begins with respect for the Lord. And understanding begins with knowing God, the Holy One."
Proverbs 9:10 (ICB)
Are kids welcome? You bet! SNL is for all ages. We hope the songs and message will connect with older kids. You'll find activity books to keep younger kids busy. The beautiful sanctuary has a flat carpeted area so parents can join in the experience with babies and toddlers - and we'll embrace their noise because we're just so delighted they've come.
What should I wear? Come as you are! Whether you've just hiked the Grouse Grind; cycling to church or riding your motorcycle, lounging in jeans or dressed for an afternoon wedding there's no need to change. Please dress modestly to avoid distraction. ;)
How long is the program? The timing is flexible... expect 50-60 minutes of music and message. You'll have the opportunity to stick around for a Q&A with the speaker, pray, or socialize over coffee. But we understand if you need to leave at 7:30.
Will coffee and tea be available? Yes, they will be! Spill-proof travel mugs are encouraged. (Please do not bring open cups into the sanctuary.)
Who is hosting SNL? SNL is inspired by a team of people you'll see on Sunday mornings at WVBC - volunteers, staff and council - worship team (and some that can't attend mornings). It has been heartily approved by church leadership.
What's coming up for SNL? We are open to where the Holy Spirit - and YOU - leads! It may continue once a month... or maybe more frequently. Adding components to the evening depends on WHO gets involved. Join us in prayerfully seeing what doors God opens for this venture! As a West Van Baptist initiative, attendees of SNL are invited to attend whole-church events.
What if I've never been to church? (Shhhhhh... here's a secret... SNL is actually for YOU!!) Please come! We'd love to see you, converse with you where you're at... and when you're ready - change your life by introducing you to Jesus.
What are the beliefs of SNL? SNL is a ministry of West Vancouver Baptist Church, which is part of the CBWC. When the sanctuary was built in 1967, a cornerstone rock pillar was erected with the inscription "That CHRIST may be preached". We hold on to that timeless goal through word and song.
How can I support SNL? We don't plan to collect an offering at SNL (though there is a donation box in the foyer). Since this is a ministry of West Van Baptist the best way to support SNL is by supporting WVBC. SNL is run by participants - that means a huge way to support SNL is for you to get involved.
How can I contact you? You can email SundayNightLive@mail.com, or call the church office at 604-922-0911. We'd love to hear your comments, suggestions, or answer questions you may have.
