Graduation for Master of Science-Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
At the end of the fall semester of 2023, I received a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My degree is a Master of Science - Research and my department is Electrical and Computer Engineering. Together with Professor Irena Knezevic's group, various thermal transport mechanisms occurring in the superlattice were simulated using LAMMPS. I obtained my master's degree in this research topic.
Admission of Ph.D. program at the Graduate School of Semiconductor Technology at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in the spring semester of 2024

Entering the University of Wisconsin-Madison M.S. program
As a graduate student, I entered the University of Wisconsin-Madison Electrical and Computer Engineering M.S. program in the United States. My major is solid-state electronics and quantum technology, and I am participating in Quantum transport theory and simulation laboratory with prof. Irena Knezevic. Also, I am joining the Quantum Cascade Laser project funded by the Air force office of scientific research.

Many of the deaf are widespread in our society, and we know their pain. Therefore, our team wanted to help the deaf by making their hearing aids. According to a survey of deaf people, most of them said that the existing hearing-impaired aids were not good. The reason was that many people recognized them. In addition, hearing aids mounted on ears made hard-of-hearing people feel left out. So, our team made auxiliary devices with bracelets that many people widely use.
I was one of the eight co-founders, and my role was as a development team leader. I led from design to production, especially PCB, because I can use ORCAD tools. Our device was to transmit valuable information about the doorbell to vibrating bracelets and fixed LEDs. Specifically, RF communication was used and tuned. We did tuning with a professor in charge of RF using a network analyzer. After completing the production, our team donated it to the deaf, and we donated all the remaining money to the hearing welfare center in Seoul. (1,000,000 WON) The investment needed for the startup was sponsored by Gachon University, Seongnam City, and a social cooperative association.
(University President Award)
As an undergraduate, I published my paper as the first author in the Journal of Materials Chemistry C. Thanks to publishing as the first author in an SCI-level journal, I received the best awards and medals that could receive from Gachon University directly from the president, and I was awarded 1,000,000 WON scholarship.
