JLPT Successful Candidates

I moved to Japan September 2022 and started attending group lessons at work starting around February 2023. Classes were about 3 times a week for an hour each and we followed the Genki I textbook. I was able to pass JLPT N5 in December of 2023 with around about 300 hours of classroom time. Afterwards I signed up for private and group classes at Sun Academy as well as participated in language exchange events every week and was able to pass JLPT N4 in July 2024 with approximately 1000 hours of combined classroom and self study hours. I continued self studying using Kanzen Nihongo and attending language exchange, private and self classes and was able to pass JLPT N3 December of 2024 with about 1750 hours of study time. Finally, I continued self studying, language exchange, and attending private courses and was able to pass JLPT N2 in July 2025 with approximately 2500 hours of combined study time.

2022年9月に日本へ移住し、2023年2月頃から職場のグループレッスンで日本語の学習を始めました。週に3回、1時間ずつのレッスンで「げんきI」という教科書を使っていました。教室での学習時間およそ300時間で、2023年12月に日本語能力試験（JLPT）N5に合格することができました。
その後、SUN Academyのプライベートレッスンとグループレッスンに加え、毎週の日英交流イベントにも参加しました。その結果、教室での学習と自習の合計が約1000時間になったところで、2024年7月にJLPT N4に合格しました。
さらに、「完全日本語」を使って自習を続け、言語交換やプライベートレッスンにも通い、勉強時間がおよそ1750時間になった2024年12月にはJLPT N3に合格。
そして、自習、言語交換、プライベートレッスンを継続し、合計2500時間の学習を経て、2025年7月に念願のJLPT N2に合格することができました。

I moved to Japan in May of 2024 and immediately enrolled in Japanese lessons at Sun Academy. I attend a group lesson every week where we learn about new grammar and practice conversational skills using the Genki textbook. I also take a private lesson where I have been focusing on improving my reading ability. I estimate that I studied ~350 hours before attempting and passing the N5 test. The teachers at Sun Academy have been incredibly supportive of my learning journey and I'm excited to continue studying towards N4!

2024年5月に日本へ移住してすぐに、SUN Academyの日本語レッスンに申し込みました。

毎週のグループレッスンでは、「げんき」の教科書を使って新しい文法を学んだり、会話の練習をしたりしています。また、プライベートレッスンでは読解力の向上に重点を置いています。

JLPT N5の試験を受けるまでに、およそ350時間の学習を積んだ結果、無事合格することができました。SUN Academyの先生方には、私の学習を本当に手厚くサポートしていただいており、N4合格に向けてこれからも勉強を続けるのがとても楽しみです！

General courses

General courses are suitable for people who want to systematically learn correct Japanese in a short period of time; those who are temporarily staying in Japan for a business or working holiday and those who are already living in japan as business people or homemakers. You can start and stop studying at any time. With a general course it is easy to experience Japanese lessons!

一般コースは、短期間で正しい日本語を体系的に学びたい方に適しています。日本に出張や休暇で滞在している方、すでに日本に住んでいる方、どなたでもいつでも勉強を始めたり止めたりすることができます。日本語レッスンが簡単に体験できます！

Private Lessons / Group Lessons

Private Lessons

From JLPT exam study to 1-on-1 conversation practice, we'll create a curriculum designed just for you. You will be offered a minimum of one class per week while studying at our school with the option to add additional classes. All levels are welcome.

JLPT（日本語能力試験）対策からマンツーマンの会話練習まで、あなた専用のカリキュラムを作成します。当校に在籍期間中は、週1回からの受講が可能で、必要に応じて追加レッスンも選択いただけます。レベルを問わず、どなたでも大歓迎です。

Group Lessons

Small group lessons focused on conversations are available. Role playing based on real-life scenarios are available. You will learn practical Japanese "when, where and how to use" in specific situations. A rehearsal for your Japanese life. Classes are for 3 or more students.

会話中心の少人数レッスンをご用意しています。日常生活を想定したロールプレイングを通して、特定のシチュエーションで「いつ、どこで、どのように」使うのか、実践的な日本語を学びます。いわば、日本での生活に向けた「リハーサル」のようなクラスです。※3名様以上から受講可能です。

Online Lessons

We offer online Japanese lessons suitable for all levels, from JLPT preparation to everyday conversation practice. Lessons are conducted via Zoom and are 40 minutes long. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced learner, you can join from anywhere in the world.
