Summer Reading

Welcome, Lynbrook Middle School Students!

Lynbrook Middle School Summer Reading

On this website, you will find links to the summer reading information for the incoming 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th graders, along with lists of reading suggestions for each grade level!

Lynbrook Middle School students are required to read 2 books over the summer and will be given an assignment to complete in September. Students must be prepared to complete their summer reading assignment and to submit their work to their English teachers during the first few weeks of school.

Incoming 6th grade students who prefer to read on their digital device are encouraged to do so. Audiobooks and eBooks are available for free from your public library. Visit your public library page to access the Nassau Digital Doorway or download the Libby app to your phone or personal tablet. Ask your librarian for assistance.

7th and 8th grade students can also access many of the books we are suggesting this year on Sora, the student reading app. Sora provides students access to the North & South Middle Schools' collection of eBooks and audiobooks. Students who have a Lynbrook Public Library card can use their library card to link their Sora account with the public library's collection of eBooks and audiobooks. This allows students to access thousands of additional books through the public library. This Summer Reading website contains links and information about applying for a free, digital library card, as well as videos and tutorials about how to access and use Sora!

Have a safe, fun, and relaxing summer!
