Ryan Benoit - founder/director
Born and raised on Bayou Lafourche in Thibodaux, Louisiana, Ryan Benoit is a long-time band director. He's been Denham Springs Junior High School in Denham Springs, LA. since 2008. He received his bachelor's degree in music education from the LSU School of Music and a masters degree in educational leadership from Southeastern Louisiana University. He has studied percussion with Mr. Eric Gueniot, Mr. Ken Green, Dr. Michael Kingan, and Dr. Brett Dietz. He’s been an active marching percussion instructor, arranger, and judge having worked with many schools in Louisiana.
His professional affiliations include NAfME, LMEA, & Livingston Parish Band Directors Association where he serves as the current President. He was a founding member of the Livingston Parish Teachers Association (LPTA) having served as its first chairperson. He presented “Google in the Ensemble Classroom: Beyond Google Classroom” at the 2020 LMEA Conference.
He currently resides in Denham Springs with his wife Allison (flute) and three sons Colin (trumpet), Liam (tuba), and Gavin (clarinet).

Timothy Marquess
Timothy Marquess was born in Illinois in 2001 and graduated from Denham Springs High School in Denham Springs, LA.
Mr. Marquess earned his Bachelor of Music Education (BME) from Louisiana State University in 2023. He performed with The Golden Band from Tigerland, where he served as drumline section leader in 2022, LSU’s Symphonic Winds, where he served as principal percussionist in 2021, Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Hamiruge: The LSU Percussion Group and various other performance groups throughout his tenure at LSU. He completed his student teaching at University Lab School and St. Amant High School.
Mr. Marquess was a member of Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps from 2016 to 2019, serving as front ensemble section leader in 2018 and 2019.
Mr. Marquess' professional affiliations include being a member of NAFME, LMEA, District IV Honor Band Directors Association, and Salyers Percussion Education Team. Mr. Marquess resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with his dog, Abby.
