There are modules to learn by topic or stories to learn the language in context.
Brain Pop offers short lessons in video / story format with comprehension questions to check for understanding afterward.

The site HolaQuePasa offers short news stories for the novice / beginner level. There are often audio files to accompany the text, and there are short quizzes after each story so you can check for understanding.
Lingua.com has some free listening practice activities with comprehension questions for different levels.
Put on a favorite movie / show that has a Spanish language track for some listening practice.
Stream some music that is in Spanish. If you like the song, search for the lyrics and see if you are able to understand / translate the words.
Find a friend from Spanish class who will agree to text with you a few times a week in Spanish just to practice.
