Welcome to our program for Summer!
How do I start with my baby to become bilingual?
I don't speak the language.
The first is first. Welcome to the Mamaestras club!
In the early stages of a baby's development, they are often called pre-verbal. As a result, you might interpret this as saying they are too young to speak with an adult. In fact, the best way to teach a baby is through listening, sweet talks, and time sharing. We believe in early language stimulation during infancy more than any other period of life, so Mamaestra creates content for you, mom, to create at home some language experiences.
For our Mamaestra & Maestramama class for parents with babies 0 - 1 year old, we will be teaching some lullabies and vocabulary for small talks in everyday activities in Spanish tailored specifically for the first year. Do not worry if you are not a Spanish speaker, we will make you practice enough so you can apply at home correctly. We will use the Mamaestra Guide for Moms 1 and the Mamaestra Cradles and lullabies Songbook It will include songs that focus on important themes in your baby's life right now (such as sweet words, body parts, family members, food, toys, animals, bedtime, etc.) as well as songs to tell your baby when they are rolling over, crawling, standing, and walking. During the training process, you will learn a lot of information on how to interact with your baby like conversations, hand motions, games and gestures that soon be mimicked and produced on their own, we will use our Mamaestra Onomatopeias book. As part of this class, we want to welcome any questions you might have about child-directed Spanish or raising bilingual kids. If you decide to remain with us we will provide you all our material because our goal is to walk you through your baby's first year of bilingual language development, as well as provide you with resources and knowledge you can use to support the use of Spanish at home.
What are you waiting for? By learning Spanish songs and activities as soon as possible, we can lay a solid foundation for our children's future bilingualism!
