Summer Enrichment Overview
This summer Bertha-Hewitt School will be combining our Summer Rec program with our Targeted Services to provide a well-rounded program for students at Bertha-Hewitt. The mornings will be filled with Summer Rec practice as well as some learning to fill the gaps created by the COVID pandemic and school closures. Students can take part in all or some of the activities provided, as well as receive two free meals as a part of our Summer Foods Program.
Summer Enrichment will run from June 7th to July 15th on Mondays through Thursdays. The schedule is as follows:
Kindergarten - 2nd Grade:

10:00 - 11:15 Summer Rec
11:30 - 12:10 Lunch
3rd - 5th Grade:
8:25 - 10:00 Summer Rec
10:10 - 11:30 Academic Enrichment
11:40 - 12:10 Lunch
6th - 8th Grade:
8:30 - 10:30 Summer Rec
10:30 - 11:40 Academic Enrichment
11:45 - 12:10 Lunch
Transportation will be provided to interested families. More information will be provided soon!

Girls Midgets: 6th - 8th Grade in Fall 2021

Boys Mighty Mites: 5th - 6th Grade in Fall 2021
Boys Midgets: 7th - 8th Grade in Fall 2021
Practice will run Mondays - Thursdays starting at 8:30am.
All games and tournaments will start at 9am. Bus times and information will be posted on the school website, and updated on the calendar provided.

Academic Enrichment
Targeted Services is a fun enrichment program, designed to help close achievement gaps, and prevent the "summer slide" that we sometimes see in elementary students during the summer. This summer the focus will be on learning without the screens! We will be doing learning activities with a focus on little to no screen time! We will use a blend of traditional learning and project-based learning to engage students.
