SUMMATION™ Tutorial
How to Play SUMMATION™
SUMMATION™ is an equation-building card game powered by two unique mechanics:
Last Card Rule™ and Auto-SUM™.
Use your cards to form valid equations that equal the target SUM of X
discard your cards, and be the first to empty your hand.
Setup:
Each player starts with 7 cards
A shared draw pile
An empty discard pile
Goal:
Be the first player to discard all your cards.
Card Types
Number Cards (0–10)
Used to build equations.
Number Cards placed side-by-side trigger Auto-SUM™
Operator Cards (÷) (×) (–)
Used to form multi-card equations
Wild Operator
Choose any operator: (+) (–) (×) (÷)
Wild Number (0–10)
Choose any number from 0–10.
Cannot be the final card of your winning equation. 🚫
SUM of X 🎯
At the start of each round, flip cards from the draw pile
onto the discard pile:
Number cards are added together — Auto-SUM™
Stop when the total reaches 11–20
This total becomes the SUM of X 🎯, the target every player must hit.
Operator cards are returned to the draw pile
Last Card Rule™ (Signature Mechanic)
Every equation must start with the Last Card —
the top card on the discard pile.
This creates a constantly changing equation base and makes every turn dynamic.
Short example:
If the top card on the discard pile is [8],
your equation must begin with:
8 …
Auto-SUM™ (Signature Mechanic)
When two or more number cards are placed side-by-side,
they automatically SUM.
This replaces the need for an addition card and creates powerful combos.
Example:
[2] [1] [4] → Auto-SUM™ → 7
Forming Equations
On your turn, you:
✔ Play an equation
Must start with the Last Card
continue using 1–5 cards from your hand forming a valid equation
✔ Equation requirements
Must equal the SUM of X 🎯
Must follow BODMAS (order of operations)
May use 1–5 cards in any combination
You may use Wild cards
✔ If equation is valid → discard the cards played
Your Last card played becomes the new Last Card for the next player.
🔁 If you cannot form an equation,
draw 1 card and play immediate 2nd chance
Or
draw 1 card and pass
🚫 Wild Number Card cannot be the final winning card
🔁 Drawing Cards
If you cannot form a valid equation:
draw 1 card,
play or pass
⭐ You may choose to draw 1 even if you can form an equation
🏆 Winning the Game
The first player to discard all their cards wins the round.
🚫 Wild Number Card cannot be the final winning card.
