Tool Name: Google Sheets
Link of brainstroming sheet : Brainstroming sheet
Purpose: For Brainstorming
Description:
Google Sheets can not only be used as just spreadsheets but also can be used for different purposes like to exchange and record ideas, for brainstorming, etc.
We used the sheets to carry out the 6-3-5 technique for brainstorming. We have used decision Matrix for the same.
Tool usage done:
The classmates were divided into various groups including both juniors and seniors together. Each group had to brainstorm and come up with a solution to a problem for daily use. It could be objects which could be improved through design and also 3-D printed. In the initial phase, the sheet was used for brainstorming and ideation. The second phase was to revisit the design based on feedback and finalize the idea. The last phase consists of creating the design of a 3D printable object using TinkerCAD.
A decision matrix was used to decide which idea was feasible and tangible to be finalized for creation.
Issues discussed were following:
Heating issues of Laptops.
Multi-purpose Mobile stand for holding the mobile while sleeping.
A manually controllable fan that can be used even when the electricity is not available.
Object to remind drinking water for reducing body dehydration during work hours.
Plastic Hairband Storage Problem.
Multiple Bookmarks.
Compact wired earphones / Compact pack to wrap & manage the wired earphones.
Finally, the idea selected by all's consensus was "Compact pack to wrap & manage the wired earphones", since it is a common problem faced by many people i.e. to manage their wired earphones while travelling, at work, or other scenarios. This idea would be given shape once we start working on it in Tinkercad, an online 3D designing tool.
