Research
Some Unique Experiences:
- Lab building for jet-cooled REMPI (Resonantly Enhanced Multiphoton Ionization) Time of Flight mass spectrometer for performing mass selected electronic and vibrational spectroscopy experiment of weakly bound complexes.
- Lab building having UHV chamber with ion sputter gun, Auger electron spectrometer (AES) and residual gas analyzer (RGA) for performing Sum frequency generation spectroscopy.
- Building of two stage IR OPA to obtain mid IR femtosecond laser pulses.
- Laser based various spectroscopic techniques i.e. Transient pump-probe spectroscopy, Sum frequency generation spectroscopy, 1-color as well as 2-color R2PI (Resonant 2-photon ionization) spectroscopy, Resonant Ion-Dip Infrared Spectroscopy (RIDIRS), UV-UV hole-burning spectroscopy, IR-UV hole-burning spectroscopy.
- Building of Fabry–Pérot etalon as a wavelength-selective transmission filter to narrow the bandwidth of femtosecond IR pulses.
- Experience on working with high vacuum using Turbomolecular pumps, diffusion pumps and roughing pumps. I have gained experience in maintenance of the roughing pumps i.e. regular oil change, change of tip seal in scroll pump etc.
- Various lasers like Minilite Nd: YAG laser, Surelite Nd:YAG (ns) pumped dye lasers, IR OPO (laser Vision), picosecond and femtosecond laser.
- Experience in using several high voltage power supply, high vacuum ion gauges, 350 MHz Textronix Oscilloscope, 8-channel digital delay generator.
- LabVIEW based programming to write master program for data acquisition and scanning laser.
- Various computational softwares (Gaussian 09, Gamess, NWChem) to perform quantum chemistry calculations.
- Autodesk inventor 3D-designing software for making the schematic drawing of the experimental setup.
