I am a researcher at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan). I have a diverse educational background, which includes Urban Planning, International Development, Rural Economic Development, and Gender Studies. My current research evaluates the impact of self-help group-based microcredit programs on the lives of women in rural North India.
In addition to conducting research in both Canada and India, I've taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses in both countries. I've also worked in multidisciplinary teams which involved academic researchers, practitioners, and policy makers in both countries. My experience of conducting research and teaching in these diverse contexts has enhanced my capacity to adapt to new working environments, as well as to communicate research methods and findings to a non-academic audience.
