As a materials scientist, my research journey has been fueled by a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration, allowing me to explore various facets of smart materials, energy harvesting, and biodegradable electronics. I am currently working as a postdoctoral research associate at Biomedical Engineering, C2E2, University of Connecticut, specializing on biodegrable bioelectronics including piezoelectric, triboelectric and magnetoelectric nanomaterials/devices for biomedical applications. Before that, I was a postdoctoral scholar at Pennsylvania State University, worked on bioinspired materials, wireless powering of wearable electronics, and powering biomedical implants through piezoelectric and magnetoelectric devices. My research bridges the fields of materials science, biological science, and bioelectronics, where I aim to develop innovative, sustainable technologies.
I earned my Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, where I built a strong foundation in advanced materials and their applications. My doctoral work focused on high-power-density, energy-efficient polymer-based self-powered piezo/triboelectric energy harvesters, and I explored novel bio-piezoelectric materials within the energy harvesting community. I also gained experience with self-charging supercapacitor devices and EMI shielding materials for smart electronic applications.
Committed to advancing scientific knowledge, I have published extensively in leading journals such as Science, Energy & Environmental Science, Joule, Advanced Energy Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, and Nano Energy. In recognition of my research contributions, I have been invited to serve as an Associate Editor for esteemed journals, including the Journal of Materials Science (Springer Nature) and other prominent journal such as Frontiers journals. I hold five patents and serve as a professional reviewer for several prestigious journals, while actively participating in international conferences.
