My current studies are focused on theoretical modeling of the Epoch of Reionization (EoR) keeping in mind the current constrains on the Universe's reionization. Constrains on EoR comes from for example the study of Lyman-alpha and Lyman-beta optical depth of high redshift (z~5.5-6) quasars, the signature of Thomson scattering of CMB photons via CMB anisotropy and polarization study etc. I simulate the redshifted 21-cm signal from the EoR to study the line of sight effects, e.g. Redshift Space Distortion and specially the Lightcone effect. I interpret the reionization 21-cm signal using Higher-order Fourier statistics such as Power spectrum, Bispectrum and Trispectrum etc.
I also have experience in simulating forgrounds using certain forground models. I simulate diffused galactic forgrounds to substract it from the signal and recover 21-cm signal. I am also interested in exploring the synergies between 21-cm signal and other cosmological or astrophysical probes such as the Cosmic Microwave background Radiation, Lyman-alpha emitters etc. The synergies can provide different perspectives to address the fundamental issues with constrains on reionization and proper modeling of EoR and can revolutionize our current understanding of this field.
The research problems I am currently addressing are:
