Dan Leckrone began his career as a trial lawyer, first in criminal cases as a Captain in the Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps and later in business and insurance litigation, and after seven years began his focus on the development and implementation of strategies for the management of the legal affairs of technology-centric companies. He became heavily involved in the development and management of multi-national intellectual property asset portfolios, the structuring of multi-national joint ventures for the development and use of technology, and the structuring and management of complex multi-national litigation. Before founding in the early 90s what is now known as The SumVen Group, he served as General Counsel and Vice President-Law of Memorex Corporation, and thereafter as a "time-shared" Chief Legal Officer for a host of technology-centric start-up companies in Silicon Valley.
Under Mr. Leckrone’s management, The SumVen Group has emerged as a global coalition of technology-centric enterprises involved in the development, management and commercialization of Intellectual Property assets as well as proprietary products utilizing those technologies. Among the advanced products and technologies that the Group has developed and brought to market are RISC microprocessors, multicore microprocessors, memory management and control devices, encryption devices, system-on-chip solutions for distributed digital media processing applications, the Quantum Plasma Furnace, particle accelerators, tessellation of graphic images, and process technology for semiconductor fabrication and silicon manufacturing, while establishing globally-recognized technology brands such as Fast Logic, Core Flash, ChipScale, MMP, Array, and 3D Art.
