Sultan Ahmed Sagor
I am a Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Information Systems at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), pursuing my PhD with a focus in Survival Analysis and Astronomy using Machine Learning.
Currently, I am working on developing deep learning and federated learning models for computational healthcare and space science maintaining data privacy and collaboration to enable institutions learning from distributed data without compromising data ownership. My long-term research vision is to advance secure, explainable, and fair medical AI systems that improve traditional clinical decision-making process.
Prior to my PhD studies, I served as a Lead Research & Development Engineer in an AI-integrated enterprise FinTech team. Earlier in my academic journey, I mentored several undergraduate students in their thesis work. I have authored mathematics textbooks and won prizes in the National Mathematics Olympiad throughout my academic career.
