Sultan Ahmed Sagor

I am a third-year PhD student in the Department of Information Systems at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, working under the supervision of Professor Sanjay Purushotham.

My research focuses on federated machine learning system design, especially for computational healthcare and space science. I’m passionate about developing privacy-preserving algorithms that enable collaboration without centralizing data—advancing innovation in medical AI for more secure, efficient, and accessible healthcare.

Prior to PhD studies, I contributed as Lead Research & Development Engineer in AI integrated Enterprise Software Team in FinTech Industry. My interests include LLMs, RAG, Deep Learning, Explainable AI, Fairness, Survival Analysis, Astrophysics Data, Cybersecurity, and NLP.
