PhD Candidate, University of Glasgow
My PhD research focus on labour markets, firm behaviour, and development economics. My research examines how referral hiring affects firm performance, with particular emphasis on how these effects vary across firms of different sizes. I combine theoretical modelling and empirical analysis. In my work, I develop a model of referral hiring under asymmetric information, highlighting two key mechanisms: improved worker selection and social discipline. These channels generate opposing effects on wages and profits.
I also have interests in education policy and early career development.
