I founded and co-organized the first ever graduate student conference aimed at encouraging women into Economic Theory research, the Women in Economic Theory Conference (WiET). Given that women are under-represented in our field (theory) compared to economics academia as a whole (e.g., the Journal of Economic Theory reports that only 5% of its editors are women compared to 21% across all Economics and Accounting journals), our goal is to use this platform to encourage women authors and to open up opportunities for networking and collaboration.
