Research Projects

1. Food Security for Equitable Futures (2020-24)

This UKRI-funded research project, with lead collaboration from Lancaster University, aims to provide robust evidence on food insecurity in Ethiopia, India, Peru, and Vietnam.  The study aims to explore how food insecurity in childhood and adolescence is associated with well-being over time, which population groups are most at-risk, and how food insecurity can be best measured to understand intra-household dynamics.

 2. Impact of theme-focused training to ASHAs on maternal and child health outcomes: A randomized control trial (2022-25)

This study is funded by IIT Kanpur through the RIG scheme. This study aims to assess the impact of theme-focused training for ASHAs on ensuring a continuum in RMNCH services among vulnerable population groups and its impact on various maternal and child health outcomes. Village-level randomization will be done in the Kanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, to generate exogenous variation in the intervention. The theme-focused training for ASHAs will give special emphasis on the continuum of maternal and child healthcare and will measure its impact on various MCH outcomes such as birth outcomes, birth weight, and child nutrition.
