Involved in research in the field of biochemistry, physical anthropology, nutritional studies and social anthropology: Field visit/ work/ survey, collection of data viz. anthropometric data, blood samples, disease, nutritional, health and hygiene profile, demographic data and women reproductive performance etc., from tribal and various other communities, compilation, analysis, evaluation and interpretation of data and preparation of scientific reports.
Involved in the wet lab analysis (Extraction of human DNA, DNA quantification and qualification through HPLC, Spectrophotometer, Gel electrophoresis, PCR analysis and DNA sequence analysis) and dry lab analysis (statistical analysis).
Operation, maintenance and monitoring of instruments/ equipment, apparatus, chemical used in the biochemical and DNA laboratory. 4. Preparation of standard solutions, handling and attributing of laboratory reagents and chemicals. Maintenance and updating of technical records and data.
Worked among the “Pahari Korwa” Tribe of Mainpat, District of Sarguja, Chhattisgarh and the “Limboo” Community of Geizing, West Sikkim under the scheme “Health awareness cum screening of Beta Thalassemia and abnormal Hemoglobinopathies”.
Worked among the “Lodha” Community Mayurbhanj District of Odisha and the “Dusadh/Palwar” Community of Uttar Pradesh under the project “General Health, Hygiene and Nutritional Anthropometric study among De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-nomadic community”.
Worked on “Khngar/Khangar”, “Charwala” Community of Uttar Pradesh, “Palwar Dusadh” community of Uttarakhand under a project “Ethnographic study of De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-nomadic communities” sponsored by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, implemented by NITI AAYOG.
Assists in the preparation of the manuscript for the survey’s projects, book and journal. One of the Authors in the book “Genomic Diversity in People of India: Focus on mt-DNA and Y-Chromosome Polymorphism” (2021), Springer Nature: Singapore.
