The internet has become deeply woven into modern life, yet the online world is still often portrayed as inferior to, or more dangerous than, the offline world. One day, I happened to meet a friend online. We cheered each other on and shared many joyful conversations. Since then, the online world has felt to me no different from the offline one, a place where people live their lives. Though it may appear cold and mechanical on the surface, it is also a space filled with warmth.
This work is a small gift for my friend, whose face and name I do not know. On the screen, a person sits in the rain. When a visitor places an umbrella over a wire figure in the physical world, another figure appears on the screen, holding an umbrella over the person in the digital world. Through this interaction, I wanted to say that the physical and digital worlds are closely intertwined, and that technology carries traces of human warmth.
