Behavior of High strength Fiber Reinforced Prestressed Concrete beams under flexure. (M-Tech Project) Supervisor: Dr.S.Suriya Prakash, IIT Hyderabad,India
This project focuses on developing design guidelines for usage of High Strength Fiber Reinforced Prestressed Concrete. It involves usage of Steel fiber (SF), Polypropylene fiber (PF) and hybrid fiber (SF+PF) in prestressed concrete and thereby evaluating the performance in terms of ductility, crack propagation, and energy absorption capacity. All parameters were studied by testing of full-scale prestressed concrete beams and a non- contact based measurement technique known as Digital Image Correlation (DIC) was also utilized to address the crack localization and reduction of strain due fiber inclusion.
Shear Strength of concrete beams reinforced with silica coated glass fiber reinforced polymer flats (Undergraduate project) Supervisor: Dr.S.S.Injaganeri, BEC Bagalkot,India
Corrosion of steel in Reinforced concrete members is a major drawback of concrete structures. Replacing steel with Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) bars has been practiced since a decade but using GFRP flats as shear reinforcement is rather relatively new. This project deals with the shear resistance of the Silica-Coated GFRP stirrups in the shear test zone for different grades of concrete (M-40 and M-60). Silica coat on GFRP flats mainly improves the bond strength of concrete.
