About me
I am currently a Lecturer in Pure Mathematics at the University of Reading, UK. Before coming to Reading, I was a Reader at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai. I did my PhD at IMT, Toulouse, France under the supervision of Jean-Pierre Otal (www.math.univ-toulouse.fr/~otal/), and did postdocs at the MPIM, Bonn with Werner Ballmann (www.mpim-bonn.mpg.de/node/103 ) and at IU, Bloomington, IN, USA with Chris Judge (https://cjudge.pages.iu.edu/).
My current research has two broad themes: (i) structure of level sets of Laplace eigenfunctions on domains and manifolds governed by various conjectures e.g. hot spots conjecture, Payne's nodal domain conjecture and Schiffer's conjecture, (ii) small eigenvalues of Riemannian manfolds and their stability. Other than these, I am also interested in various questions related to the length and angle spectrum of hyperbolic surfaces and spectral gap questions for minimal surfaces in S^3.
I am currently supported by EPSRC NIA APP16691. In the past, during my stay at TIFR, my research was partially supported by the Ramanujan Fellowship of SERB, India.
