Sugar Tracker ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a personal blood sugar tracking application for Android. This Privacy Policy describes how the App handles your information and is designed to help you understand your rights regarding your data.
1. Information Collection and Storage
Local Storage Only: Sugar Tracker is designed with your privacy as the top priority. All data you enter into the App is stored exclusively on your device. This includes, but is not limited to:
Blood glucose readings (mg/dL or mmol/L)
Medication names, dosages, and schedules
Personal profile information (age, diabetes type, target ranges)
Reminder and notification preferences
App settings and theme preferences
Any notes or tags associated with readings
We do not collect, transmit, upload, or store any of your data on external servers, cloud services, or remote databases. The App functions entirely offline and does not require an internet connection to operate its core features.
2. Use of Your Information
Because all data remains locally on your device, we do not access, process, analyze, or monetize your personal or health-related information. The data you enter is used solely by the App on your device to:
Display and track your blood sugar history
Generate statistics, charts, and trend reports
Manage medication logs
Schedule and deliver local reminders and notifications
Create exportable reports (PDF) for sharing with your healthcare provider
Display home screen widgets with your latest readings
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not share your data with anyone. Because your data never leaves your device, there is no data to share, sell, rent, trade, or disclose to:
Third-party advertisers
Data brokers
Analytics companies
Government agencies
Any other third parties
The App includes a Share/Export feature that allows you to voluntarily share your own reports (e.g., PDF exports). This sharing is initiated entirely by you and is handled through your device's native sharing capabilities. We have no access to or control over data you choose to share.
4. Third-Party Services and Analytics
Sugar Tracker does not integrate any of the following:
Third-party analytics or tracking SDKs (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics)
Advertising networks or ad SDKs
Social media SDKs or login services
Crash reporting services that collect personal data
Any cloud-based backend services
The App uses Google Play's In-App Updates API solely to check for and deliver app updates. This service does not collect or transmit any of your personal or health data.
5. Device Permissions
The App requests the following Android permissions, each used strictly for local functionality:

Notifications To deliver scheduled blood sugar check reminders and medication reminders
Exact Alarm To ensure reminders fire at the precise times you configure
Vibrate To provide haptic feedback for reminder notifications
Internet / Network State Used exclusively for checking app updates via Google Play; no personal data is transmitted
No permissions are used to access your contacts, camera, microphone, location, files, or any data outside the App.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is retained on your device for as long as you choose to keep it.
You can delete individual readings, bulk-delete records, or clear all data at any time from within the App.
Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all associated data from your device, as no backups are stored externally.
We have no ability to recover your data after deletion or uninstallation.
7. Data Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your information depends on the security of your device itself. We strongly recommend:
Enabling a screen lock (PIN, password, pattern, or biometric authentication)
Keeping your device's operating system up to date
Not sharing your device with untrusted individuals
Using device encryption (enabled by default on modern Android devices)
The App does not implement its own encryption layer, as it relies on Android's built-in file system security and encryption.
8. Children's Privacy
Sugar Tracker is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is intended for use by adults and adolescents managing diabetes, ideally under the guidance of a parent, guardian, or healthcare provider.
9. Health Data Disclaimer
Sugar Tracker is a personal tracking tool and is not a medical device. The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions. The statistics, charts, and reports generated by the App are intended for informational and record-keeping purposes only.
10. International Users
Although we do not collect any personal data, we want to inform users of their rights under applicable data protection laws:
GDPR (European Union): Since no personal data is collected or processed by us, GDPR data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are exercised directly on your device through the App's built-in data management features.
CCPA (California, USA): We do not sell personal information. Since all data stays on your device, there is no data sale or sharing to opt out of.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or applicable regulations. Changes will be reflected:
