Sudoku works without an account and does not show ads. Google Analytics for Firebase is enabled by default to measure pseudonymous app usage, game progress, and download campaign performance. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings.
Information collected
When analytics is enabled, Google Analytics for Firebase may collect an app-instance identifier, device and app information, approximate country derived from an IP address, acquisition source or campaign, sessions, screen views, and app interactions. Sudoku sends gameplay events such as mode, difficulty, progress milestones, elapsed active time, mistakes, hints, completion, abandonment, and likely stuck moments. A random per-attempt pseudonymous identifier is sent with gameplay events so events from one puzzle attempt can be grouped. We do not send names, email addresses, precise location, contacts, entered digits, cell coordinates, complete puzzle boards, or puzzle solutions. Advertising ID collection, ad storage, ad user data, and ad-personalization signals are disabled.
How information is used
We use this information to understand active users, improve difficulty and game flow, diagnose where players struggle, and measure which download campaigns are effective. Google processes analytics information on our behalf. Data is encrypted in transit. We do not sell personal information, and the app does not display advertising.
Data stored on your device
Game progress, settings, streaks, statistics, and related play state are stored in the app's private storage on your device. A local copy of the random attempt identifier and event counters prevents duplicate analytics events after an app restart. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes this local information.
Your choices
Analytics is on by default from the first launch, and the app does not show a first-launch analytics permission prompt. You can turn it off or back on at any time in Me, Settings, Share pseudonymous usage analytics. Turning it off stops future collection, clears the local attempt identifier, and asks Firebase to reset this app installation's analytics identifier. It does not delete information already received by Google or aggregated reports. The game remains fully usable.
Children's privacy
Sudoku is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect direct personal information from children. A parent or guardian may contact us with a privacy request.
Retention and deletion
Google Analytics may retain user-level and event-level data for up to 14 months, depending on the project's active retention setting. Standard aggregated reports may persist longer. Turning analytics off stops future collection but does not erase previously received or aggregated information. You can also clear app storage or uninstall. Contact us for questions or requests.
Changes
If the app's data practices change, this policy will be updated before those changes are released.
