Sudarsana Reddy Kadiri is currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Viterbi School of Engineering, University of Southern California (USC). He is affiliated with the Signal Analysis and Interpretation Laboratory (SAIL), directed by Prof. Shrikanth Narayanan. Previously, he held positions as a Research Scientist (2024-2025) at USC, and Research Fellow (2022-2023) and Postdoctoral Researcher (2019-2021) with the Department of Information and Communications Engineering (formerly Dept. of Signal Processing and Acoustics), Aalto University, Finland. He received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of electronics and communication engineering (ECE), International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H), India, in 2018, and B.Tech. degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, India, in 2011, with a specialization in ECE. His academic journey included roles as a Teaching Assistant at IIIT-H (2012 to 2018) and co-teacher at Aalto University (2019-2023), along with supervision responsibilities at Aalto University, where he has co-supervised 1 PhD student and 4 master's theses. Currently, he co-supervises 2 PhD students.Â
His research interests encompass signal processing, speech science, computational paralinguistics, affective computing, bio-marking of health, machine/deep learning, and auditory neuroscience. He has published over 90 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences in these areas and serves as a reviewer for reputable journals and conferences of IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Frontiers, and PLOS. He was awarded the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Fellowship for his Ph.D. degree. His achievements also include winning two sub-challenges in the ACM-MM ComParE Challenge 2022 (Vocalisations and Stuttering).
