Industrial Experience
Product Safety Intern at Syngenta, NC Summer 2020
Project title: Mathematical investigation for seed treatment risk assessment refinement
The product safety team at Syngenta was interested in refining the chemical exposure model for operator risk assessment using mathematical modeling. I calculated one million discrete chemical exposure values and created a probabilistic model for operator risk assessment using Python’s statistical and computational libraries. I created a database for relevant data from monographs using data structuring techniques in Excel and Python. I also assessed residential and dietary risk due to chemical exposure using the Dietary Exposure Evaluation Model (DEEM), following EPA guidelines.
