Licorice Drider

Average Lifespan: 80~100 years

Appearance: Licorice driders have skinny humanoid torsos and chitinous arms and legs. Their legs are segmented into 3 main shapes that appear digitigrade. On their back they have a set of 4 legs used for crawling around cave walls or their elaborate nests/homes.The chitin on a drider is black with stripes of red, or sometimes oranges or yellows. Their skin is usually dark grey or blue, but blue skin is rare. They have 4 eyes on their face with no pupils. Their canine teeth are especially large.

Nature: Licorice Driders live in groups together underground. They spin strange interconnected homes out of licorice ropes that hang from large open cave ceilings. A single one of these massive nests could house hundreds of driders together at once.

Driders hate outsiders. They will guard their section of tunnels fiercely and set hundreds of traps around their homes to stop interlopers. Larger nests of driders may even hang up corpses in tunnels leading to their home as a warning.

Magic: The nature of their licorice rope is not fully understood. They do not make it from their bodies like a spider might, but whatever process they use to make it allows it to be extremely strong and durable. They always seems to have an ample supply ready.

Diet: They scavenge meat and eat a variety of fungus and mold.

Location: Driders only live underground or deep in caves.
