Gummy Sharks

Average Lifespan: Unknown

Appearance: Gummy sharks have a humanoid top half with a shark bottom half. Their ears are pointed and they have fins on their shoulders, hips, back, and on the females, the genitals. Along their bellies and tails, and sometimes the face, is a large white section. The rest of their skin is usually blue raspberry, but may come in other fruity colors such as orange, red cherry, pink strawberry, or sometimes a dark blackberry color. Gummy sharks' hair is typically the same color as their skin but may be a lighter or darker shade with white stripes. The eyes of gummy shark are always wide but angular, giving them an aggressive and angry stare that matches their typical nature.

Nature: Gummy sharks are independent and highly territorial. They mark the borders of their territory with bones. The bigger the bones the scarier the shark. They fight amongst each other most of the time as well as with other sea life infringing on their hunting space. Because of their fighting nature gummy sharks end up with nasty scars as they grow. When they want to mate they hesitantly leave a trail of bones, shells, or even food, from a potential mate's territory to their own. Sometimes this invitation is taken advantage of and competing sharks in the area will steal from a shark who has let their guard down in hopes of a mate's attention.

Magic: Gummy sharks heal quickly. Even though they scar, their wounds do not bleed for long and close up by magical means that are outside the shark's control. They can live extremely long lives as well. A Gummy shark will keep growing all its life and can reach giant sizes because of this. Due to their need for more food at greater sizes though, other sharks may team up to remove an older shark from their territories. Not many live to grow to extreme sizes because of this resource competition.

Diet: Carnivorous eaters, they will eat most meats available to them and can resist some natural poisons.

Location: Gummy sharks prefer warmer waters but have been spotted in waters all around Sucreterre.
