Chocolate Elves

Average Lifespan: 150~200 years

Appearance: Chocolate elves are a tall humanoid species with long, thin, pointed ears. Their body types vary like any humanoids but they are usually athletic or even a bit bulky. Their hair and skin tonnes are chocolate colors ranging from White, to milk, to dark chocolate colors. They commonly have freckles of darker or lighter chocolate colors on their skin.

Nature: Elves of this race are very in tune with nature, both plants and wildlife. Their lives revolve around gardening and caring for the plants in and around their homes. Despite the lack of any magical powers chocolate elves seem to have a supernatural way with plants and animals. This allows them to form bonds with wilder creatures, and sometimes revive seemingly dead plants. They keep many animal companions but only for comfort or labor.

Magic: Chocolate elves cannot preform magic or brew magical potions. They are also immune to many magical spells and poisons. This can be a blessing and a curse for them, as immunities also mean healing, or desired transformation potions need to be extra strong in order to have any effect.

Diet: Thanks to their immunities chocolate elves can eat a wide variety of foods. They typically eat plants or animals found naturally around them.

Location: Being a hardy species chocolate elves can survive in many environments but are mostly found in various forests of Sucreterre.

Chocolate elves are tuned to nature in many ways, especially in how they make their homes. Twisty trees can be found throughout Sucreterre and many species may chop them down to build their homes but chocolate elves have another way of doing things.

They build their homes into the trunks of old trees that have started to pull apart. Of course this means finding trees old enough for the job, as twisty tree’s do not start to for wide gaps in their trunk until they are at least 50 years old, and are not usually wide enough to house anyone for another few decades after that. But once chocolate elves have found trees for their dwelling what they do is quite unique.

In smaller villages like this one, with smaller trees, usually a single family lives in one tree. Children and the elderly typically sleep on the bottom floor while parents or teens move higher up into the branches. Each level of the tree gets a base built into it from stone or another fallen tree’s wood cut up for this purpose. For privacy each floor has a large cloth tarp draped over it and tied to various parts of the tree. when chocolate elves move they like to take the cloth with them and they patch it up as needed. For some elves the fabric covering their abode feels more like home than any specific tree and some canvases have been passed down for generations.

In larger “cities” settled by chocolate elves they live in gigantic trees with many many stories. Higher up in the branches there are bridges that go from tree to tree to connect the residents. Due to their size many different families live in these trees and family members may even be spread throughout the city. Something the small town chocolate elves find unusual.

Common Outfits

Simple, practical, outfits are most common for chocolate elves. They don't feel the need to cover everything unless the weather is cooler or they want to avoid getting dirty for any reason. They may decorate their clothes with fruity dyes, but the colors still come out muted.

Special Outfits

On the left is the armor that a chocolate elf warrior or town guard might wear. These elves tend to specialize in archery and need to be able to move accordingly. For hunting an elf may wear similar, but more simplified version of this gear over their clothing.

In the middle is the traditional formal wear chocolate elves prefer. The top commonly has lace or some frill, and the pants are tight and simply shaped, but may have a pattern. Around their middle they wear a highly decorative belt. Some elves' belts may have many layers of brightly colored fabrics. This outfit can be worn to any formal occasion from a small party to a wedding ceremony.

The right outfit is the typical travel gear for a chocolate elf. They travel as light as they can, but are good at carrying larger packs if needed. They keep all gear close to hand and tend to carry jewelry specifically for trading if they run short on supplies or need a place to stay.

Common Hairstyles

Chocolate elves typically have straight to wavy hair and prefer simpler stylings that won't take a lot of effort when they get out of bed in the morning.
