11 February - International Day of Women and Girls in Science

It is observed on 11 February to recognize the role of women and girls in science, not only as beneficiaries but also as agents of change. Therefore, the day focuses on achieving full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls. Also, to achieve gender equality and empowerment of women and girls

Ms. Sucheta Dhere was felicitated by Governor of Maharashtra - Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Uday Samant Minister of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, Mantralaya, Nitin Karmalkar Vice-Chancellor of the Savitribai Phule Pune University, Rahul Kirloskar Chairman at Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited for work done in Analytics and IoT & supporting women in technology on the occasion of world science day. "प्रवास आत्मनिर्भरतेचा- आधुनिक सावित्रींच्या प्रेरणेचा" दि. ३ जानेवारी, २०२१ रोजी 1KWE द्वारे आयोजित “आधुनिक सावित्री पुरस्कार सोहळा” मध्ये समाजबदलाच्या संकल्पनेला नाविन्यतेची जोड देऊन क्रांतीज्योती सावित्रीबाई फुले यांचा वसा आणि वारसा चालवणाऱ्या महिलांना आधुनिक सावित्री पुरस्कार देऊन गौरविण्यात आले. समाजाच्या सर्वांगीण विकासात महत्त्वाची भूमिका असणाऱ्या शिक्षण, आरोग्य, उद्योजकता आणि कौशल्य विकास याविषयी जागरुकता निर्माण करण्यासाठी या सत्रांचे आयोजन करण्यात आले आहे. 

प्रवास आत्मनिर्भरतेचा- आधुनिक सावित्रींच्या प्रेरणेचा या सत्रातील पाचव्या आधुनिक सावित्री - मा. सुचेता ढेरे या "Women In Data Science (WiDS)" या company च्या संस्थापिका आहेत. 

त्या इंजिनिअर असून त्यांचा मुख्य उद्देश gender equality आणि empowerment यावर काम करणे हा आहे. WiDS च्या माध्यमातून त्या latest technology like Data Science, machine learning, artificial intelligence यामध्ये महिलांच्या कौशल्य वृध्दी साठी कार्यरत आहेत. 

सुचेता ढेरे यांना Standford University कडून सन २०२० मध्ये micro fellowship देखील मिळाली होती.WiDS Pune ला Standford University कडून जगातील largest initiatives मधील एक top ranker असे apppreiciation आणि aknowledgement मिळाले आहे.
