*Neil got this on the first leg of a relay, but we are waiting until he hits it in an open 8 before adding him.
Worth the wait
During his tryout period at UVM, Cameron Kirn got to (had to?) race an 800 time trial right at the university's home facility. A good old 160 meter flat track, reminiscent of his humble beginnings at AHS. No matter, he ran 1:59.2h to get the monkey off his back, and has progressed down to a 1:55:38.
Family affair
So much for unlucky 13. On the biggest stage, the Championship 800 at New Balance Nationals Indoor, Colin Kirn absolutely DESTROYED the 2 minute mark, as well as his old school record, by four seconds. He went 1:56.01, and has since gone 1:53.54.
Now the pressure's on Brady to make it a 3-for-3...
Show(ing) off
Mike Brown was a man on a mission. After barely missing an open sub-2 in HS, he decided to enter a UMass Amherst home meet during his freshman year. He cruised to a 1:59.35, beating multiple UMass athletes in the process. Here's to hoping Coach Ritchie took notice... He now has a 1:58.73.
Jacob RIZZholm
Another lucky 13! Will pulled up to Andover Boosters on his 21st, and was not left disappointed. Jacob "Jake" Chisholm CRUSHED a sub-2 clocking (and beat Paul Bergeron in the process) with a 1:59.50. The race video is a thing of beauty: https://youtu.be/6J_BQR51x9I?si=8z3vSQL6Do66g0Wv&t=10250
A Mid-Distance Classic, Indeed
After solo qualifying for the MIAA Meet of Champions in the 1K during indoor, everyone knew that James "Jed" Gallaudet was more than capable of going sub-2. The question was, how far under would he get? Well, it was not 1:59, not 1:58, but 1:57.86! Now we just have to convince Charlie to give outdoor a try...
