The Subsea Optical Fiber Communications school is for early professionals and students looking to learn more about future innovations and careers. The school features speakers from Google, Meta, Subcom, Alcatel Submarine Networks, NEC and more along with hands on demonstrations and networking.
The inaugural Subsea Optical Fiber Communications International Summer School took place from 4 August 2019 - 10 August 2019 in Finland! During this summer school program, speakers from Google, Facebook, Subcom, Alcatel Submarine Networks, NEC and more worked with attendees to help them understand and prepare to work on solutions for the challenges ahead in the field of Subsea Optical Fiber Communications. With ninety nine percent of all international data traffic traveling through the 1.2 million km of subsea optical fiber in use today, and data traffic set to double in the next three years, the school was an exciting and timely event.
