Dr. Subrat Kumar Behera is currently working as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Prior to this, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Louisville, USA, from December 2023 to October 2024. He received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna. Dr. Behera’s research focuses on smart material mechanics and the dynamics of smart material systems. His work plays a pivotal role in enhancing the constitutive modeling of electro-magneto active soft solids and their applications in real-world scenarios. He is currently involved in the modeling of lithium-ion battery components under a mechanical abuse environment. Dr. Behera published 11 peer-reviewed papers. He received his Ph.D. through express mode thesis evaluation (awarded for publishing at least five Q1 journal papers). He received the NSF I-Corps Award in 2024. His work continues to be instrumental in shaping the future of resilient and sustainable science and engineering.
