SubPulse for YouTube Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 19, 2026
SubPulse for YouTube is a browser extension designed to help users view, filter, sort, track, and manage videos from the YouTube channels they subscribe to.
Information SubPulse accesses
SubPulse communicates directly with YouTube using the YouTube account session already signed into the user's browser. This may involve access to authentication cookies or session information necessary to retrieve the user's YouTube subscription feed.
SubPulse may process information including:
YouTube video IDs
Video titles
Channel or creator names
Thumbnail URLs
Upload information
View counts
Video duration
Live, upcoming, Shorts, and regular-video status
Watched status and playback progress
Videos manually removed by the user
How this information is used
This information is used only to provide SubPulse's core functionality, including displaying the user's subscription feed, filtering and sorting videos, tracking watched videos, maintaining the Removed Videos archive, and syncing user preferences.
Local and browser sync storage
SubPulse stores settings, cached subscription information, watched-video history, removed-video history, and user preferences using browser extension storage.
When browser synchronization is enabled, SubPulse may use the browser's extension sync storage to synchronize settings and a compact record of watched and removed videos between compatible browser installations.
Backups
SubPulse provides optional Export Backup and Import Backup features. Backup files remain under the user's control and are not uploaded to or stored on servers operated by the developer.
No developer-operated servers
SubPulse does not operate a backend server for collecting user data. YouTube subscription information is retrieved directly from YouTube.
No advertising, analytics, or tracking
SubPulse does not use advertising networks, analytics platforms, tracking services, or telemetry services.
No sale of user data
SubPulse does not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties for advertising, marketing, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
SubPulse's use and transfer of information received from Google services will comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
User data is used only to provide or improve SubPulse's user-facing features and is not used for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.
Account controls
SubPulse can connect to, disconnect from, or switch the YouTube account session used by the extension. Disconnecting SubPulse does not sign the user out of Google or YouTube.
User control
Users may remove individual videos, restore removed videos, clear hidden-video history, export their SubPulse data, import a backup, disconnect SubPulse from YouTube, or uninstall the extension at any time.
Contact
Questions about this privacy policy may be directed to the support/contact email shown on the SubPulse Chrome Web Store listing.
Chrome specifically says extensions requesting user data need a Limited Use disclosure on the project homepage or a page one click away, such as the privacy policy, so the paragraph above is important.
